Great Scale Train Show
April 7-8, 2001 Timonium, Maryland

The Prince William County Model Railroad Club again provided one of the layouts at the Great Scale Train Show on April 7th and 8th, 2001 at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium, Maryland.  With years of experience, club members set up our DCC layout in short order and spent two enjoyable days running trains.  With the exception of the apparent alien visitation of a sticky, glue-like substance, the two days were trouble-free and smooth running.

With four beautifully painted backdrops, John H. provides scenes with much to look at.
As with most model railroads, it's a work in progress.  John's modules benefited from PWMRC's spirit of co-operation so evident with scenery being added during the show.

A long coal drag headed by Pennsy 2308 blasts out of the tunnel at Harper's Ferry onto the club-built corner module.  Detail work on the train by Bob R. is enhanced by the rockwork and scenery created by
Ed M.(background) and Julia C.(foreground).

Bygone days are remembered on the Oregon Coast. As the local wayfreight pulls into the station,
 the local Railway Express Agency
crew has the truck ready for loading.
Attention to detail is one of the hallmarks of Mat. T.

With passenger's filling the coaches, Amtrak rolls through horse country.  Bill L. provides detailed scenery with fences, trees, shrubs, structures and more to pull the viewer into a typical horse ranch.

Using the magic of model railroading, Amtrak continues it's journey across the bridge at Harper's Ferry.  You feel like you're in the village
thanks to the skill of Ed M.

The yard goat is kept busy by the action on
Harvey V.'s modules.  Looking from the skyboard out, you can really appreciate the details.

From the perspective of a person right in the module,
Mat T. shows what could be the beginnings
of a model railroad supply empire.

As the show winds to a close, Tim H.'s Great Northern hauls the PWMRC Club Car to the yard as the sun sets over the western plains to end the day.
