Martinsburg, West Virginia Raildays

With a sense of adventure and the burning desire to spread the charm of model railroading, the members of PWMRC made yet another out-of-state trek.  We were part of the fourth annual Martinsburg Raildays in Martinsburg, WV on July 17 & 18, 2004.  The remains of the B & O Roundhouse, built in 1866, was the setting for two enjoyable days of Railroading in a rural setting.  We displayed a modular layout 44 feet by 32 feet.  A wide variety of garden railroads, music, food, crafts and fun was available for the entire weekend.

Railside buildings are a blur as Walt's Santa Fe Steam loco rolls by for 'Still Photos in Motion'.

This show saw the debut of Brion's four module through yard.  Loco 5246 is heading up a 3 unit consist waiting for their next assignment.

The sun is just up as Nickel City Line # 270 leads the first train of the day into Laurel Valley.  Bob's modules are part of his  "Short Line of the Alleghenies".

Ultimate Distribution is Jim's lineside business which is rushing to get the boxcars loaded before the local freight arrives to pick them up.

Three different utility rail vehicles were brought in for the day.

Brion's caboose is looking very lonely.  It's clearly had a long, hard-working life.

After a full day of festivities, the show rolled into the sunset...
