For the second year, the PWMRC was part of the Freedom Festival at the Manassas, Virginia airport on October 16th & 17th, 2004.  Amid the vintage planes, re-enactors, and entertainment we put on a modest sized modular layout which was quite well received.  As showers drifted over the airport and people took cover in the terminal, we continued with the "World's Greatest Hobby" to put on a show for the crowd.

Reminiscent of days gone by...Rob's Richmond, Fredericksburg and Potomac yard switchers are working hard on John's harbor module.

"Take a Ride on the Reading" as Lew's train glides by his module with the row Victorian houses.  Notice that Lew has  own "Air Show".

Across the river and into town behind the mighty GG-1.  This is Don's loco on Ed's river modules.

Fredericksburg Station doesn't see many cabooses these days, but with model trains anything is possible.  Here the module built by Max and Jane gets a visit from Martin's train.

Let's head to the Midwest where the prairie is vast and grain is king.  A typical grain transfer facility is the focus of Ken's three modules as a Rio Grande by Tim passes by.

While some people were there to look at the airplanes and some were looking at the trains...the "USO Liberty Belles" provided some great entertainment.  After their show they visited our layout for a few minutes.

Is that Abbot & Costello running trains?

During the air show there were many military re-enactors...these guys brought smiles to everyone.
