The Prince William County Model Railroad Club continued our tradition of showing our modular layout at the libraries in the county.  On October 15 & 16, 2005 we visited the Central Library in Manassas, Virginia.  With books tucked under their arms, we had visitors of all ages enjoying model railroading.  Several members set up their modules and many members ran trains throughout the weekend.

Downriver from the mill, we find two busy CSX freight trains meeting on the bridge.  Don's 8109 is on the left and Max's 8208 is on the right.  You can see part of the old mill in the background on Brion's module.

We're back in the fifties as Lew's Baltimore & Ohio passenger train glides past his module with several gaily painted Victorian houses on the hill.  A brief stop at the station in Edston on Ed's module finds the full load of passengers settling into their seats for their trip.

Passenger service is alive and well on our railroad.  Here we find Brion's Southern diesel at the point of a long string of passenger cars.  They are heading over the bridge downstream from the mill and on to their destination.

CSX 8208 gets around the layout at high speed with a train full of good spirits and cheer.  Passing by Don's carnival modules leaves the background a blur.

Photo by Jim Connal In model railroading, you can enjoy taking trips back in time.  Scott's Norfolk & Western 1218 glides through Peabrake Yard pulling it's load of coal.  With a careful ear and a bit of imagination, you can hear the whistle and the rumble of the huge steam engine as it accelerates out of town.
The crowds at this show were big and the PWMRC tour bus was kept busy making trips to the satellite parking lot.  The empty bus heads off to pick up another group of visitors.
