Once again PWMRC was a part of the Annual Boy Scout Train Show on March 18 & 19, 2006 at Sounders Middle School in Dale City. With big crowds and a fine-running layout, this was the best show yet. PWMRC combined with Piedmont Railroaders, the Potomac Module Crew and Boy Scout Troop 964 to build a modular HO layout that filled the gym. With radio controlled dispatching and Digitrax operations, we had a great time with the "World's Greatest Hobby".. PWMRC continues to build our dream layout at the Quantico Train Depot. We have an Open House the first Saturday of every month...it's free and everyone is welcome. |

| While most of the action was on the long mainline, this branchline is busy too. This pair of diesels has picked up the various local industries and is headed off to the city. | |||

This high steel arch bridge was a popular viewing spot all weekend. On the left is Scott's N & W 1218 with a long coal drag. On the right is the Richmond-Washington line with a local freight. | ![]() |

The age of famous passenger trains lives at the Scout Show. The Milwaukee Road is running fast and smooth past the general store on Fletch's module. |

This year's layout was the longest yet with more than 130 modules. With miles and miles of mainline, we saw plenty of long trains. Two of the longest were also two of the smoothest-running. Pete's Pacific Fruit Express is on the left. Russ' Norfolk Southern Roadrailer is on the right. | ![]() |

| Where are all these trains going? To the big city of course...with loads of grain, produce, steel, coal and other goods. Towering city buildings on Lynn's module brings the viewer to a large midwestern city. Both road and rail traffic is heavy in the city. | |||

On the edge of a small town is Walt's grain operation. There is plenty of siding for the heavy traffic controlled by a bank of switches with LEDs to help the operators.
| The New York Central's Twentieth Century Express is on it's way from Chicago to New York City. Steve and Steven built this module with careful attention to details to bring the scene alive. | |||

Tim continues to build on his Free-Mo module. More building and scenery provides the backdrop for the busy operations here. With one module ont he mainline, the various sidings and industries keep things busy all day long.

A small brush fire has slowed traffic on the mainline just East of Laurel Valley. Dan's CSX 9023 is on the left and Norfolk Southern 9023 of Russ S. is on the right. The Bristow Fire Department has everything under control.

With careful attention to detail, Brion has crafted a scene of an abandoned crossing. The tracks are gone and the sights and sounds of the bygone age of steam are no more...or are they...
