Open House - December 4, 2005

PWMRC held our first Open House for our new permanent layout in the Historic Quantico Depot.  On the same day as the Quantico Christmas Parade, we had a full house of enthusiastic visitors.  Please join us for our future events and see our progress on our layout.

Photo by Jim Connal The weather was terrific; unusually warm for early December.  With the doors open we enjoyed the rumble of CSX and Amtrak trains rolling by all day long.  To the left is Rob's RFP on the trestle with a full-size CSX freight train in the background.

In today's world of big railroads getting bigger, there are few shortlines that are growing.  The Nickel City Lines recently took delivery of a big AC6000CW.  Fresh from the paint shop wearing number 909, the new prime mover is put in service immediately with Paul at the throttle..
