It was a great saturday in January for our monthly open house. There was a steady flow of visitors and club members throughout the day. Please join us for future events and see the progress on the layout of our dreams.

The sun is setting behind the mountains to the west and our local freight struggles through the pass toward Powell's Creek. Brion is nursing the fire as he heads for home.
Here's a sight you don't see on too many railroads. Brion is about to cross Powell's Creek with his Mississippi Central as CSX 5113 passes by on the mainline outside the station. Yes, that is a real CSX locomotive just outside our windows.
Near Armstrong, the interchange track is busy today. Roger's high-capacity, drop-center car is delivering a large transformer to the local power plant. Just down the road from Armstrong, the power plant crew are ready for the installation.
With his unit's MU'ed, Lynn is rolling through Armstrong with a long intermodal freight train. Following the curve of the local terrain, you can see some of the cars in the background beyond the curve.
We had a new operator as Patrick was at the throttle of a Virginia Railway Express commuter train. Slowing over the Powell's Creek bridge, Patrick is ready for the next stop at Evansport.
It's the end of the day and our tired crew heads into the tunnel and on the last part of their trip before they go home. On Lynn's caboose, the conductor gives a quick wave to our photographer before disappearing into the mountain south of Evansport.
