The first day of November, 2008 was a great fall day in Quantico, Virginia. A steady flow of visitors enjoyed the scenic drive to the Town of Quantico and then visited our layout. The trains were running on time and everyone had a great day having fun playing with trains.

Our regular monthly Open House is the first Saturday of every month...come & see our progress.

George is guiding his Union Pacific through the tunnel from Easton and Division Yard. He is about to cross the high bridge to Dillinger.

Running smooth and looking good, Max is about to cross the bridge at Leesylvania.

"The Galloping Goose" is sighted in Quantico. One of the joys of model railroading is being able to runs the trains you want to run. We don't usually see such trains in the east, but we do have the mountain scenery to make it look good.

Single unit trains were all the rage on this day in Quantico. This New York Central railcar is a long way from the famous "water level route" from Nw York to Chicago.

Photo by Jim Connal We recently saw the arrival of some spiffy new track maintenance equipment. At the north end of the Evansport yard is the brand new TM 4150 Magnum Track mobile. With our heavy schedule of trains, we need the help for track maintenance.
We always see steam power on the layout. Today we welcomed the Nickel Plate Road Number 759.

Once arriving in Evansport, our passengers can connect to several area towns via Greyhound bus. The bus terminal is on Main street in Evansport, next to the hardware store and the local pharmacy. Photo by Jim Connal
